Plot

Three strangers – who live in the same New York apartment building and share an obsession with true crime – suddenly find themselves involved in a murder.. He is actually a very accomplished and talented musician.. The viewer found out in the first episode that CHS lived above Oliver who lived above Mabel with that elevator scene. BUT the opener has CHS in a 7th floor apartment, Oliver on 8th, Mabel on 9th – in reverse order and well below CHS' current floor in the series… Featured in AniMat’s crazy cartoon cast: The Rat of All My Dreams (2020). Season 1 (9/10) When this series came out, my girlfriend wasn’t particularly interested.

New York in five minutes

I’m a huge fan of comedy mysteries and loved Steve Martin when I was young, but her enthusiasm for any of them is easy. But after five minutes I had to stop and make her watch it because we’re New Yorkers and this show sucks. The weird relationships with the bypassers, the artistic types, the justified paranoia, it was all there and immediately hilarious. The series is about a trio of crime podcast fanatics who bond over a true crime in their luxury building. Soon they are investigating and podcasting. But they also each keep secrets from each other in a wonderful structure of mysteries within a mystery.

The cast is great

Everyone has secrets, the show says, and digging deep is a fascinating exercise. Martin is low-key funny, Short, who I’m generally lukewarm to, is very funny as a flamboyant theater director, and Selena Gomez holds her own as more than a hilariously sleazy temporary tenant. as far as I know – my friends (and fellow New Yorkers) certainly love them – so I was shocked to see how many user reviews simply hate this show, or find it just mediocre, to the point where they insist that all favorable reviews are paid for . This answer is inexplicable to me. The show is amazing. When a new episode came out, I watched it immediately.

Season 3 (6/10): What the Hell Happened?

It’s so, so, so, so good. Ignore the negatives, this is a must watch. Other Seasons: Season 2 (8/10): A shade weaker than the first season, but still excellent. Season 3 had Steve Martin playing his character as a complete idiot, and after 2 great seasons, Selena Gomez became lackluster – more sullen and less snarkily witty. And when the mystery was solved, oh my God, these were the most absurd reasons you could come up with. Sure, there were still good moments, good stars, surprisingly pleasant songs.

But OMG.Season 4 (9 stars) To my relief, Season 4 was a return to form – Martin was no longer an idiot, and Gomez’s delightful snark was fully restored. There are some fun guest stars – especially funny is Eva Longoria who plays a truly awful. person – the mystery is solid and keeps you guessing, the plot twists are satisfying, and it’s all extremely funny.
